New work from Little Handfuls

Hi there everyone! Time for me to check in again and show you what I have been up to. I am so pleased with my new work, one in particular is making rather proud of myself, not sure if that is a good thing! His name is Zachary! I felted him in a mustard coloured wool, which was rather tricky to use, I don't think the colour had been rinsed out properly as it felt a bit odd and took forever to felt down. But he is just so sweet, what do you think??

Oh that face!!

His hat is one of my knitted creations, it's soooooooooo long that it is also his scarf! Just love it!

Don't you just love the lil puku (maori for tummy)? And his curled up toes? OMG I'm so in love! Sheesh!

This is Timothy. I decided to try making a bear with jowels. I think it worked out pretty well.

Hudson is felted in a gorgeous wool named Misty Rust. Love it! He's rather sweet.

Maybe is a sweet little girl, felted in a plumy colour with raspberry details.

Short Brown is felted to fit in this mini Starbucks mug, made from an Alpaca/silk/merino mix

Petite is felted in a blend of lilac and pink with a cotton lace 'tutu' skirt.

Well, that's about it from me for this week. I have a new exciting project on the way tho, I am trying out felting with Possum fur, and it's going pretty well! Stay tuned for that one!

I'm keeping pretty busy tho as this term I have my beginner class, I am taking a home hair dressing class (as a student) which is fun and I have a day class (my first one) that I am tutoring in a couple of weeks. Plus I have work and my baby is turning 2!! I can't believe it's so long since she was a wee thing (not so wee, was 10lb 5oz at birth!) in my arms! *sniff*

Have a wonderful week all and thank you for sharing your precious time with me!

Handful of Handfuls

As I mentioned earlier I was working on my first polar bear!

What do you think?

I've made this guy for a friend of mine, and he was copied from a photo of a real polar bear so they do actually lay like this sometimes! :o)

Jinx

This little guy is felted from a lovely hand dyed mix of blues and violets. He actually has a top lip but it's a bit hard to see in the pics.

Minty is felted in a unique mint green, he's a basic little bear but still sweet.

Cornelius

Now here is a unique bear! Nothing quite like him has appeared in my work before.I do quite like him in his brick red and candyfloss hand dyes.

Tamarillo

This bear is felted from merino in amazing blood red hues. He's darker in person.

Titch

He's just a lil sweetie, look at that face! Fabulous sea green wool.

And of course I am still working on more bears, I actually just finished something a little different and I'm halfway through a baby bear which is coming along nicely! So there will be more to show again soon.

I hope you have enjoyed these new creations. I had so much fun making them. I also want to take the time to thank you all for visiting my blog, I know some of you pop in regularly and that is just so sweet of you. Thank you all for your kind comments and your high praise, I really do appreciate it!

Much love and happy crafting to you all,

Another Day!

Hi all

Well, it's another day, end of another week for me, literally. It's almost midnight on Sunday, back to me and bubs at home tomorrow. Its' been a busy weekend, Fathers Day today. Bit hard making it special when you have to go to work, but I did my best.

I'm working on a polar bear at the moment, it's going pretty well, I'm pleased so far. I received so many gorgeous new wools this week. Just love those auctions, there are so many talented woll dyers in NZ, and I plan to buy from every single one of them! :o)

Well, todays bear is felted from a mix I did myself. The blue is called Blue Thunder, and the white is a soy fibre I wanted to try out. Really pleased with it, just enough sheen to it, and they blended well.

Meet Stormy!!

He has sparkly thread for his nose that matches his bow!

I'm already working on another blend called Tamarillo which is just gorgeous. Actually finding myself wanting to work with merino and similar fibres, much to my dismay! hehe

Hope you like little Stormy!!

Welcome to Sanderson!

Sanderson is felted in a gorgeous new shade of blue called Sky.
I just loved working with it!

I even managed to knit another hat and scarf just for him!
Remember all my bears are for sale so if you are interested it

is worth writing to find out if the one you like is still available!

Meet my new little furry friend!

Meet Rocky, my latest Little Handful!
This little guy is felted from a gorgeous blend of fibres.
Alpaca, Merino and Silk all mix to make this
gorgeous coffee coloured fibre. I mixed
the colours for his nose too which looks great!

Rocky was inspired by this gorgeous vintage Avon

perfume bottle which is still full!

Here is even more new work!

Hello all!

Just wanted to share some more pics of new bears. These ones are mostly not available, actually only the White Rabbit is still looking for a new home. Benny is sitting in a gift store awaiting purchase along with Sugar, Pandarina and a few others from below. Sunny was made to order for a lovely lady, and so was Willamina who was made to match William a wee while back.

Sugar Plum was made to order also and I am having such a hard time sending her on her way! I'm such a silly thing, getting attached to these little sweeties.

I was so pleased with Benny I am working on another hatted bear at the moment. I really am not a knitter so I was pleased that the items ended up looking like what they were made to be!! hehe

Ok, I'm outta here. Needles are calling me!
